Hot Air Balloon (Redmond, WA)
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
A hot air balloon prepares to land at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA.
Just when I get so irritated about where we live I look out the window and am greeted with a scene like this. ^_^

Can you guess who he is? (If I’ve already told you no fair ‘guessing’ now!) ^o^

Lati Yellow Benny
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
She’s so cute! The body is so well designed and the head mold is simply adorable. Somehow I lucked out and got the new body with the magnets in the wrists and ankles…though it means her feet tend to come off in shoes. However, Lati also sent along extra hands and feet with the bar is the joints should one prefer the stringing method instead.
Alas, in spite of her overwhelming cuteness I’ve decided to let her go.

Today I received and ‘emergency’ email from my mom. She needed a picture of the little brown bunny and the little red squirrel that live in her yard. Later I found out she was printing these out to send along with a letter she’d written to the little girl she’s sponsoring in Rwanda.

Doll Testing
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
I do a lot of tinkering with various doll materials and how they work with various doll designs.
This one was inspired by how Bunka Dolls are created. But I used robe velour instead. Also, I’d never used the Quick Fuse printable fabric for eyes before so I gave that a shot as well. Alas, while I like the eye design I did in Illustrator, I applied them unevenly and too high for my tastes.
This is why I test though. ^_^;
A happy coincidence…she ended up about Blythe/laTi Yellow size and could wear the LaTi Yellow dress I made! At least until I make her a proper outfit. I’d never made a bonnet before so the one she’s wearing in from my test pattern for that…with lace just sort of tucked in.

Corgitaur
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
I sketched one of these a couple nights ago and liked the idea well enough that I did a more composed sketch. I know…Pembroke Welsh Corgis don’t have poofy tails but I couldn’t resist. Not that this is incredible accurate anyway.
I sort of went crazy and invented a whole culture for these things. They might end up in more illos. ^_^

Toadflax & Kal’grave
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
A World of Warcraft themed sketch! It’s my warlock, Toadflax, and her Voidwalker, Kal’grave. Toadflax is an unlikely combination of cuteness, joy and questionable morals.
I only just started playing warlock as something different to my (70) priest. It’s nice to not have people pestering for heals all the time. ;D

Small Felt Things
Originally uploaded by Merry Calliope
I made these ages ago and never photographed them. So I took a quick snapshot today.
Some skully hairclips and a little zombie boy. I really like the zombie boy even if there’s little about him that’s actually zombie-ish.
Felt, floss, yarn and beads. The zombie boy is about 2.5″ tall not counting his legs.
